Project Management History

These developments have been quite the turnaround for the project. Its bankruptcy filing resulted in a restructuring and several lawsuits were settled. In early 2012 a judge ordered the sale of its former parking garage building, which was purchased by the City of Anaheim and it was announced that a new owners group would be found. That group of owners has completed the purchase of the Century Center and the parking garage and has begun demolition.

The project was a high profile purchase in Orange County and the construction of the Century Plaza was completed soon thereafter. The Century Center opened in 2009 and was the launchpad for a number of retail and entertainment stores and clubs, the former Americana club has been closed since its bankruptcy filing. As of early 2012, The World club was demolished and the parking garage has been sold and is undergoing demolition. The Century Center is still under construction and is still awaiting its retail anchor.

There are many noteworthy landmarks in Anaheim and Century Center is no exception. The Century Plaza opened in 1997 and occupies nearly 4 acres. The Century Center will soon be home to a new Nordstrom department store as well as a PN Park and a Puzo’s restaurant. The shopping centre was located at the corner of Buena Vista Avenue and Buena Vista Street in Anaheim.

The area was previously a parking garage and parking for 2000 cars. The project cost $23 million and was completed in 2002, only two years behind schedule. The plaza’s development made a huge impact on Anaheim’s skyline and its retail shops. The plaza is home to a number of retail businesses and restaurants and it even has a Puzo’s restaurant. The centre also has its own parking garage and ground parking, which is available at an additional charge.
